Postdoctoral Fellow in Behavioral Science and/or Computational Game Theory

The Social Ecological Gaming and Simulation (SEGS: lab invites applicants for a post-doctoral research fellow with expertise in behavioral economics and/or game theory to work with a large interdisciplinary team in the area of animal health protection (biosecurity). This is a grant-funded 12-month position, contingent upon continued funding, at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont working with Drs. Chris Koliba, Asim Zia and Scott Merrill. A competitive starting salary plus benefits will be provided. Successful candidates will analyze large data sets collected through serious gaming with online and targeted audiences, develop new games and publish research findings in high impact journals. These efforts are part of a larger multi-institutional project that is studying how to reduce the negative impact of potential emergent diseases to the U.S. food-producing livestock industries. Candidates interested in multidisciplinary research are preferred.

Requirements for the position include a PhD in the behavioral science and/or computational game theory and/or veterinary epidemiology, preferably with some working experience in the arenas of animal or human biosecurity .

Required attributes/abilities
1. Doctorate in behavioral science, computational game theory, veterinary epidemiology or related field
2. Proven record of peer-reviewed publication
3. Evidence of quantitative statistical/modeling expertise

Desired attributes/abilities
1. Data mining or machine learning expertise
